What physical geographic features have aided the development of the United States?
The plains have aided the United States in farming. Farming was an important part in the development of the United States. Rivers have also aided in the development of the country. River, which contained water, were used for energy during the industrial age, a period where the development of the US boomed. Also rivers, such as the Mississippi River, were used for trade routes.
What physical geographic features have aided the development of Vietnam?
Vietnam has many mountains. This aided the development of Vietnam as many people settled on these mountains. Mẫu Sơn Mountain was settled by the French in 1936. They built many military bases there.
Compare the similarities and differences
In the US, people didn’t settle on mountains much. They stuck to the low lands. In Vietnam however, people settled on mountains a lot. All these features were important to both countries’ development. All these settlements were all during the same time.

Assignment #1
1.) What you did over summer?
I went to many places over the summer. First I went to Mui Ne and stayed at a hotel/resort called "Sea Links". My family and I liked it so we went again on my mom's birthday. After that I went to my mom's hometown two hours away a couple of times. Finally for my last trip I went to Vung Tau.
2.) What are you most/least looking forward to this year in Social Studies?
I am looking forward to group projects. Last year an 8th grader told me that we did a lot of group work. I was really looking forward to it. The thing I'm least looking forward to is the basic things. Every year in Social Studies we go over Earth's geography.
